Vern’s Auto Body was
established in 1984, by Vernon C.
O’Brien Jr. He started in a one bay
garage on Langley Road in Minaville,
with one employee. As his business grew
bigger, his space grew smaller, so in
1989 he purchased a building on the
intersection of Route 30 South and 161.
He remained in that location until 2005,
when yet another change was needed. In
2004, he purchased the former Hosner
Motor Car

Main Street in Downtown Amsterdam.
With this move he also
expanded the services to include a full
mechanical shop and detail shop.
Currently there are two businesses in
this one great location.
Vern’s Auto Body & Sales
Inc., a complete collision repair center
and Vern’s Auto Sales & Service Inc.,
specializing in mechanical repairs and
offering full detail services. Vern’s
Auto employs 15 people and working
beside Vern, is his wife Sherry, his son
Robert, and his parents, Vernon Sr. and
Lorraine O’Brien.
When visiting Vern’s
Auto, you will be taken back in time
with the atmosphere of the 1950’s. While
you are in the waiting room, you will
observe a line of 1957 Chevrolet Belairs,
original Texaco gas pumps, authentic
peddle cars and much more memorabilia to
enjoy.
